This huge inukshuk stands on a bluff above the beach in Vancouver's West End, overlooking the Pacific. You've probably not heard of inukshuks, but you'll be seeing a lot of them since the official logo of the 2010 Vancouver Olympics includes one.
An Inukshuk is a stone landmark used as a milestone or directional marker by the Inuit of the Canadian Arctic. British Columbia, with its huge aboriginal population, has them everywhere.
This one was created by an artist in the Northwest Territories and given as a gift to the city for the 1986 World Exposition.
