My friend Julie and I were walking back to Yonge Street from a walk through one of Toronto's three Chinatowns when I spotted this nameplate on the historic headquarters of the Bank of Nova Scotia (known today as Scotiabank). The gold lettering just popped against the backdrop of the bank's old stone facade so it begged for a photo.

I feel a bit of affinity for the good old Bank of Nova Scotia since my family's roots are in the province.
