Pigeon Point

My sister Kate and I had just enjoyed a leisurely drive over the hills from San Francisco to Highway 1 along the California coast when we decided to stop by the Pigeon Point Lighthouse. You can't see the light in this shot, which is one of America's tallest, because it was behind me.

I love the picket fence and the fields of reddish-brown plants (all very exotic looking, none of which we could identity). After this shot, we continued on our way to our destination: Monterey.
